Fiberglass quality (buddy club 2)

I like the Buddy Club 2 kit and want it but the only problem is I live in New York city and there are alot of pot holes.. Do you guys think that the fiberglass would hold up in the city/suburb section of NYC???

I don't live in NY but I DO live in PR where the blacktop is biodegradable (breaks up easily) and I think that as long as you don't drive wildly and keep an eye open for potholes and curbs you're safe. Oh and try not to have too low of a car.

humm.. ive had bad luck with fiberglass.. do u plan on lowering ur car or is it already lowered? u nick a drivway wrong that s**** gonna crack

I have been considering only the buddyclub2 rear and side skirts.. is the only worry the front bumper or do people have problems with fiberglass all the way around?

from my exper. with fg I have only had problems with the front. Never a problem with the sides, well maybe on a speed bump here and there, nothing bad...not one with the rear, but like someone already said if you nick a curb or driveway wrong your front end might rip into 15 pieces. I once had to get towed and as I tried to get on the flat bed I barely and I mean barely touched and it split from bottom to top. I also like the bc2 kit but if I do go for it, I would get the rear and sides and stick with a urethane front bumper. I am already lowered and it would be way to hard to keep my front in one piece on my roads. Its too bad I think its a great looking kit. -Cheesie

My body kit is made of fiberglass and I am also lowered. I bottom out and scrape all the time. The kit holds up great. No cracks at all.

I guess it just depends on how lucky a person is... or maybe the type of fiberglass? I dunno, my friend cracks his lancer kit like 4 times a year it seems like.

if you scrape forward it's not THAT bad (unless you hit it straight on) but if you're baking out (like from a driveway) and it get hung up. THAT's when it's gonna crack. Think... it slides over but since it has an edge on the backside, when you back up that edge gets hung up easily and screwes everything

I also like the kit but many people seem to have different opinions on the subject. I plan on getting it but if it does end up cracking and it needs to be fixed anyone have a clue on how much it will cost to get fixed? I plan on lower my car about 2 inches and I drive great *Knock on wood* It just worries my on how everyone says fiberglass breaks so easily

i posted a thread about someone making blue class fiberglass kits for us, but no one ever listens :D

can someone post pics of the buddy club 2 kit ... cause the pics in the photo gallery are not working

Has anyone tried to reinforce a kit before it's painted. The inside, adding a layer of FG with wood or something to give it some structure. I realize that this will add weight, but normally the Look is what you want out of a kit, not the 1-2 Lbs.
