FD Rims on P5

I PMed azuelke and he is making me a set of 3mm spacers. They should be ready soon. Now all I have to do is roll my fenders....

Can anybody recommend a tire? I have been planning to run 225/45/16, but the only tires available are Summer tires. I live in central North Carolina, so we don't get much snow, but I need something that will still handle well in near-freezing temperatures. Any thoughts?

Any experience fitting 225/50's on FD rims on a P5 would be appreciated. If I want an all-season tire, it looks like my only option.

Alternately, any experience driving Summer tires in the cold (without snow)?

Yeah I don't think I will get a set of Summer tires. I'm just having an impossible time finding an all-season tire in 225/45. I guess I'll probably go with 215/50 and give up a little tread width for the sake of availability of all-seasons in that size. I wish I could fit a 225/50 because there are so many choices available in that size, but it seems to be the consensus that it just won't fit.

Well I finally found some all-season tires in 225/45R16, and it looks like they are literally the only ones available in this size. They are the Maxxis MA-V1, and i found them on onlinetires.com after reading about a user's negative experience with them on an E30 BMW forum. Apparently E30 M3s are picky about tires though. There doesn't seems to be a lot of information on them out there. Apparently the company is a Taiwanese mountain bike tire manufacturer that recently branched into automotive tires. Their bike tires are well-reviewed, and some online reviews of their car tires were generally positive, with a few complaining about treadwear.

TL;DR Does anybody have any experience with the Maxxis MA-V1 all-season UHP tire?

Nevermind on the uncertainty of Taiwanese tires. I called a local tire shop and they are going to get me some FK-452s in 225/45R16 mounted for under $400. The wheels showed up yesterday looking great. A few scuffs in the paint here and there, but the polished lips are 90% flawless. A friend's brother is going to roll my fenders for me ASAP, so hopefully I will be all set within a week.

Got them on today! They look amazing. 3mm spacers and the 225/45ZR16 Falken FK452 tires really fill up that space. The clearance is really slim, and I actually knocked off one of the wheel weights up front when I first backed out of my driveway. I'll get it rebalanced and maybe even add 2mm spacers up front. We'll see. The rears rubbed the fenders when I hit big bumps, so I'm going to roll them ASAP. Pics to follow soon...
