Exhaust Piping/muffler

One word of warning - we recently tested a 3" Magnaflow muffler. It was more restrictive than our usual 2.5" setups. Judging by the sound, you'd probably want a resonator in there.

Was that measured with a back pressure gauge, or did you see a decline in power on the dyno?

It was a dyno test. I haven't done the full writeup yet. We tested two different 2.5" setups and two 3" setups with mufflers as well as one without. This was on a 245 whp Miata running 12 psi.

Tomorrow is the big day. I'm getting surgery to make my pipe bigger hehe,,, errrrr my exhaust.

2.25-3.0 piping with HKS muffler. Should be almost the exact same setup as Terry has. I'll let you all know how it sounds-and how it effects the flow.

Still running with only the primary Cat. Not sure why BEGI seems to be avoiding me on the off road pipe matter. :mad:

Hopefully I'll be able to get it one day and be able to run with NO restriction.
