I used Krylon Fusion Flat Black spray paint. It's particularly made to bond to plastic. I used it on both front and rear emblems, sprayed several coats for added protection. I used Dupli-Color Ceramic Engine Enamel because of excess heat under the hood.

The finish on the IC emblem was chipping slowly. There are only two pins that are glued to the cover that hold it down. Use some fishing line or another strong kind of string and run it along the top and bottom of the emblem to be sure and then flip the cover and try and pop the pins out carefully. I broke a piece off the emblem during the removal process but luckily it was a piece that was being cut off. Try the same method for debaging, heat gun to loosen the adhesive.

The majoity of that is actually pitting. Previous owner must have abused the hell outta the car, possibly driving roads that were being worked on everyday...LOL
