Embarrassed to ask...

..but of course I will anyway. :)

I've decided to sound deaden my front doors, and I cannot figure out how to disconnect the wiring connection that resides inside the door behind the black plastic inner panel. For those that have been behind the door panel, I'm referring to the connector that is accessed by pulling off the semi opaque "door" in the black panel towards the back of the door.

I've never had a problem like this before - maybe I was having a bad day, but I couldn't figure out how to pull the connector apart! Your help will be very appreciated.

most of the connectors have a little tab that u have to press down with ur thumb or finger to pull them apart
they are really stubborn sometimes so i use some pliers to push it down gently and the pull hard lol

^^^ That's what has me struggling - I can't really see a tab anywhere on the connector! I've probably had every other connector on the car apart at one time or another, but this one...!

Yup, we need a picture.

Then we can help, BTW there are TONS of different types of conectors, some have screws, some have tabs, some have no way of coming apart, they are like zip ties, once 'zipped' it's done for, so again, we need a good /great picture.

Good luck!

peace!(rei)

Guys, you're right about the pic. Thinking about it, if I can get the camera in the door and snap off a couple of good ones, I might be able to look at the image myself and find the tab. I'm sure there is a tab, because it doesn't make any sense to me that Mazda would create access to this connector via the 'door' in the panel unless they meant for this connector to be pulled apart. If I get back into the door this weekend, I'll snap some pics, and post. In the meantime, if anyone is familiar with this connector, I'd appreciate your thoughts!
