Current mods:

HKS Super Mega flow intake
HKS Hi Power axleback exhaust
HKS Circle Earth Grounding kit

Corrected for sea-level:

116.4HP @ 5865rpm
108.5ft/lb @ 4675rpm

I didn't take a baseline but I'm impressed with the power. I'm going to scan the chart in later today and post it.

r u sure?

those numbers are incredible!!!

are you sure you dyno-ed your car right?

I don't know about you, but I've heard that CAI and catback combined would give about 10-12WHP, which, at a baseline of around 100 would not come to 116.

That grounding kit must have something to do with the extra power...

I'm impressed at the numbers for an intake/axel back system.

I'm getting my intake/ catback this weekend...I'll try to dyno and post

Haig - The stock exhaust piping is pretty big actually. I think it's a 2" inside diameter. Which goes to show that the stock muffler is quite restrictive! Also, I wasn't running a CAI, just a SRI. As for being correct, a ES dyno'd just before me and was putting down 112HP with just a CAI and catback exhaust.

Blown - not to piss on your parade, but just as a FYI, did you have your car accurately weighed before going on the dyno run? If the dyno wasn't recalibrated with your car's actual weight after dyno'ing the ES in front of you, you're not going to get an accurate reading.

Also, dyno runs are not comparable cross car. There are many factors which will alter the numbers.

We're definately interested in seeing your dyno runs. :)

Hey Blown-

Where did you find the HKS grounding kit? I've been searching for it everywhere and I've found them for other cars except for the P5. Do you have any pics of your ride?

Thanks,

Jay

Good results. I have a Thermal catback and a Injen intake. I'd say I have about a 10-13HP increase. Nothing to get too excited about, but every bit helps. Right now, I am trying to figure out the next step. I would like to get a couple more HP out of the motor naturally, any suggestions?

BTW, looks like your a northerner. I was from Upstate NY. Now in Atlanta. Loving the weather.

Notherner is an understatement.. We still had snow last week.

As for other suggestions, I was thinking about adding a header and maybe the mazdaspeed cams... Probably be good for another 5-10HP.

How about headers and a hi-flow cat?

I think if on our NA engine you do intake, whether SRI or CAI, and full exhaust, including cat back, hi flow cat and headers, you should could go get as much as 25WHP.

I have to admit that it's not that bad for NA...making the car pretty darn quick!

Haig - Any ideas on which header is best? Also, who offers a high-flow cat? I think this is a good time that I start searching.

I want... HKS Circle Earth Grounding kit, but too expensive.
I will just make my own kit :)

Nice numbers!

AWR. SS 4-2-1 header that eliminates the first cat / downpipe, and bolts directly to the second cat just like OE. It also facilitates the EGR, and both O2 sensors. AWR states it won't throw a code, but I highly doubt that. Not a problem though, as PonyExpress has MIL eliminators that work for $20 (I used one on my WRX without issue.)

Don't bother with a high flow cat, the second cat on our cars are not a restriction issue.

Hope to have my header this week. Dyno / Pics to follow (I've yet to dyno with my RB catback, Injen CAI, and grounding system.)

Good luck,

Jim
