don't make me angry.......

I picked up my MSP in Feb. I noticed shortly thereafter that the car had a slight pull to the left on the highway. So I took it to my dealer and told them off this issue. They took it in and did an alignment and gave it back to me. My drive home is alot of highway and I noticed that it was still pulling. I called them when I got home and said WTF its no better. The service rep says" oh well we're too far from the highway (like 5kms) so we didnt highway test it but the alignment guy says it was right on. So I shake my head and told them I'd be back in the morning. They take it back in and did a "lateral rotation" on the front tires. They figured that one of the tires was bad. I left and found the situation to be exactly the same! So I called the Service Manager and told him and he said that they weren't prepared to do anything more about it because as far as they were concerned, everything was fine. I told him that time would tell and if my tires started to wear badly, I'd be back.
- Fast forward to today......4 months and 8k kms later..... -
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the steering wheel was jiggling a bit on the highway so today I quickly stopped in at a shop that I know and trust and asked them to check the wheel balance. When the tire guy came back into the waiting area to see me, he had a funny look his face. He takes me out to the shop to show me that my front tires were on BACKWARDS!!! When Mazda did the "lateral rotation" of the front tires the monkeys put the DIRECTIONAL TIRES on the wrong way! There's big ARROWS on the tires showing the rotation direction. Then he shows me that the rear tires are scalloped to s*** which is what was causing the vibration and road noise. So we put the alignment gear on and the thing is WAY OFF!!!! ARRGGHH!!!
So basically my front tires are half worn because of being installed the wrong way and the rear tires are screwed because the alignment has been out for 8k kms!!! After this shop fixed the alignment the car drives perfectly! I am very upset about this blunder and tomorrow I am going to the dealer to demand 4 new tires. I am not a "racer', I have never once squealed my tires. I paid alot of coin for my car and I treat it like my baby so I can tell you right now this is not from abuse.
I am left to stew in this tonite until the service manager gets in tomorrow morning. I tell you this, he better not cop an attitude with me because he wouldnt like me when I'm angry.

Mine has an ever so slight pull to the left.....

I don't think this is uncommon with our cars. When I had my last rotate / balance done; I had them check the alignment (not Mazda). He actually thought perhaps, a belt in the tire had shifted a little, and that it wasn't a problem. I'm cool with it, and hardly notice.

The pull to the left is the least of my worries. It's slight, as you mention and I was willing to accept it. But the condition my tires are in now because of the dealers errors is unacceptable.

Damn! Just another reason to never go to the dealer unless it is warranty work. That is bulls***!

that's bulls***... you better make sure they give you 4 new tires.. if they don't, call mazda usa.. i mean if they don't even know to put uni-directional z rated tires on the right way, who's to say they know how to do anything else right? you know. sorry about your bad dealership experience though. hope it all works out.

I always check my tires when a dealer takes them off for whatever reason. I've heard too many stories like this, and it scares me

Lazy

Lazy heading out so a reposting I will go...

"I hate to hear about these horrible experiences you guys have had. These dealer Techs are the ass-end of mankind. They are like genetic defects that clump together in the colon of society. Ass tumors of humanity if you will. "

Dealers suck the ass of life plain and simple. Call Mazda and raise hell.

Sorry to hear man.

Add this to the "bad dealer experiences" list please.

I had a flat repaired at the dealer a few weeks ago. They managed to do it in 15 minutes, and they charged me $20.

Oh yeah, and they did it without removing the tire.

I was under the impression that tires nedd to be plugged and then patched on the inside????

This would require removal of the tire.

WTF is up with dealers man ???

Yes Folks!!

Most dealers are Syphilitic Suck Asses. (pukey) (omg) (pukey)

Chit least it isn't as bad as some dealer experiances from Z32 owners (90-96 300zx).
People have gone in with their Turbo models and come back to find the rear wheels up front. Now on a Non-Turbo this isn't really a problem since they are the same size. But on the Turbos the rears bigger!!! :'( :D
Not much faith in a dealer that can't tell that.

You have managed to be both gross and funny at the same time...
AGR dude you are ILL...brutha-man.

4 months and you never realized your tires where on backwards. I would have noticed the first day.

I suppose it depends on the tire.....but unless you're poking around down by your tires, you wouldn't notice it until you tried driving through a big rain puddle.
