dimmer for the green bar?

2009 Mazda5
I have a 2009 Mazda5 bought used about a year ago. Great car so far. Took a while to get used to the controls though.

One nit pick: the green media display above the dash (for radio band, AUX, CD, etc.) seems very bright. Is there a way to control its brightness? The regular control panel dash lights are controllable, but not this? It can be very annoying, since it's always in your field of view. At night it causes "trails" when you look into the darkness, because your receptors are saturated by the big green blob!

Any help appreciated...

The dial that controls the brightness of all the lights should adjust that too. Just make sure it's not turned all the way clockwise, turn it back a bit and it should be a dim as the rest of the interior lights and gauges.

Green? I wish! On the 2013 they're all bright redish-orange. Every time I catch a glimpse of the D drive indicator my hear skips a beat thinking it's a warning light.

Ugh, didn't realize that. Oh well, mine readout only serves as a clock and temperature counter now.
