Difference in AT and MT Engine?

I had an engine blow around 40k miles, dealer won't cover it because I do my own oil changes and didnt keep receipts.
I'm looking on car-part.com and it asks if its AT or MT, but the VIN criteria to determine it shows the same on there.
Just wondering if I will run into problems if I try to install an engine listed as AT into my Manual Mazda5?

The motors are the same you can make it work

That is so strange that the dealer will not replace engine because you did your oil changes. That is crazy. I did not think they can do that.

It makes sense to me, there is no proof of any maintenance done. If you can talk to the regional warranty director they may honor the warranty but that is unlikely.

I would try to get the oil checked at Blackstone and use the results (assumption that its good) to get the warranty coverage.
