Hey guys... I'm new here, so... Hi.
Forgive me if I skipped an "intro" post, I know some forums require new members to do so.
I know the basic mechanics of how a car works, but as far as experience goes I have none other than swapping wheels.
I just copped my 2000 Protege LX with 160,000km for $1400. It's got almost no rust anywhere. It came with winter tires on the stock mazda 4-lug rims which are nice buttttt....
I just saw this picture and splooged:
I really love the deep dish look. Apart from maybe installing a turbo in the long run and maybe changing the springs and dropping the car, rims are the first thing I'm going to do and I'd love some dish
I know I have to watch the offset, but how would I do so when buying a set of used rims? I looked all over the internet and couldn't find one protege with some dish and stretch action.
I did find one thread (that got very little action) saying protege's have very little room to work with in the wheel wells so that's bad news for a dish-lover like myself.
I was thinking of getting these, grinding the rust off and painting them but how would I make sure I wouldn't have any problems If there would be any (like?).
