Why spend 700+ on an experiment. Spend the money upfront, it's cheaper than doing it twice.

it was just a suggestion but Quaife doesnt solve 3rd gear problem. theory/experiment will never be fact until its proven. someone will have to try it out and perhaps that combo will be good for 400-500 HP. unless Cwill is planing to go more then that. maybe ken will hook him up just to test the intgreity/quality of the product.

I mean this is drag racing here and not 24 hours at lemans or a night at the nurburgring...where inner tires and outter tires woudl spin at different speeds and most certainly put a LSD trhough its full potential. Quaife is a great unit...but do you fully utilize that LSD's potential on a drag strip? I always though LSD are very benificial when turning. I assume it will give you a better 60 ft by making sure there less wheel spin? I dont know much about drag so I dont know where is the true benifit of having a LSD other then to make the tranny stronger. Juan did run his pass with slicks and a open diff right?

im watching this cool animation on howstuffworks on what a LSD does durring a stright line and how the pinion gears rotate on the pionon shaft only when turning.

I do understand your point about Quaife will certainly be safer driving on the streets, there are turns, street tires, ice, dirt, and puddles of water to worry about in real life beyond the drag strip. And slicks on LSD put alot of pressure and wera on it so you would want a better built LSD. And Quaife is a great unit for that. And in the end it is a better built product with quality parts. But im just stating another option if he chooses to do it. I mean 3 months ago if you wanted a stronger tranny Quaife was the only option or weld the LSD. And if you wanted gears you would have to fork out $1K per gear for a emco gear. Now we have a bit more options at half the price when it comes to LSD/tranny upgrades..

A quaiffe LSD would take time off of CWILL's slip. It is easier to get traction and to stay on line, and it is a better driver with LSD.

The benefit is not as large on a FWD compared to a Rear Wheel Drive car with an open diff, but it IS a big benefit.

I think Beau said that the latest record run could have hit 12.1 or 12.2 with the LSD.

You make very good points on 1. getting a QUALITY LSD and 2. the LSD will not save the gears.

there is nothing experimental about proven stronger gears and the fact that a welded diff has never broken

So can I expect to see you at the rotary meet march 4th?

Pretty cool. Narrator was quite excitable.

Yeah, too bad he was so excited that he forgot to zoom in on the scoreboard on that last run! Did CWill really run that 12.4? Hmmmm....

LOL
