crazy popping sounds???

I keep hearing a wide spectrum of sound coming from my front end suspension (loud clunking, popping, and slight creaking), not to be confused with squezeaking) I am not clear on what may be causing these sounds.

I hear them mostl often when I take off, going straight, turning, and even going over speed bumps. My msp is lowered 1.75" with eibach springs front and rear.

If anyone has any helpful advice, and or has experienced strange sounds from their lowered front end...Your input is appreciated in advance.

THanks!!!

Damn..check every single suspension component. CV will give you clicking sounds. Creaking is the strut mounts and thrust bearings (happened to me). Just take it to Mazda and have it checked out

maybe you didnt tighten yer lugs? sounds stupid but one guy i knew hand tightened em and he got a shitload of noises when he drove off.

I just purchased new yokohama avs es 100's, loose lugs are doubtful since I watched them get tightened with an impact. But who knows I will check them.

Thanks!

The clicking sounds are loud! Like a metal to metal sound. How do I check every single suspesion component? Can you be more specific?

CAn you describe the creaking sound made from strut mounts and bearings?

With a lowered car, I understand the reasoning for your input, but what action did you take? And did it work?

Thanks Again!!

Maybe check and make sure a spring isn't broken. To check your suspension just lift up the front of the car and start wiggling everything. Wiggle the tire to see if a ball joint or wheel bearing is loose, check to make sure all the bushings (especially the control arm bushings) are in place and not starting to separate or come apart, make sure all the rest of the parts are tight and not damaged including the CV joints (make sure a boot isn't torn). You could always bring it to a service shop...usually they'll do suspension checks for free.

I suppose I will take it to the shop next, I was hoping for someone who has experienced the same with thier car being lowered.

Have some one you trust check the top strut mount and the strut bearing, which will make a loud popping noise. I broke the left front strut bearing and the dealer tried 3 times to find the problem. So I took the thing apart myself and found the strut bearing had cracked. Took 45 minutes total time. The bearing was $10.

You don't happen to have that part number handy do you?

Don't have the part number handy but it is a number any dealer should give you. If they don't you can PM me and I'll get it for you.
