could a mazdaspeed protege????

...It is what it is... It's becomeing a dated bodystyle with low power and low reliability, but there are some things it does very well- Take corners quickly, seat my 3 year old daughter, and get my groceries. I opted for the MSP over an RX8 and a 350Z. Most people wouldn't, but the car is a blast to drive and that's why I own it. Driving is my favorite thing to do. I've gone on a couple of job interviews in the past few years and when I'm asked what I like to do I always reply with, "Drive". I have hours and hours of video of me driving that I'll just sit at home and watch, so I can see what I'm doing wrong and improve it. My friends and girlfriend think I'm crazy, but it's what makes me happy. The camera I was using had a lot better sound quality and you can hear me laugh or hear me make a noise and I can tell you exactly what I did whether it be battling understeer, dipping off the edge of the road, sliding the rear end around a corner (that's my favorite to do in my FWD), coming into a corner too fast, or perfectly exiting a corner... Enough rambling.

I couldn't have said it better. It's not quick or even remotely powerful, but it's so perfectly balanced. Everything works well with everything else for an always-enjoyable driving experience. I'd love to mount a camera and find some good roads... But not so much here in Texas.

Most people that can afford a $40k car aren't interested in building it. I didn't say they weren't fast because they are but build a protege with less power and the protege can win cause there's a 1,000 lbs weight difference

I would disagree with you on the people who spend 40k on a car don't want to mod it. Most of the people who had extremely fast hondas have moved on and have extremely fast EVO's, STI's and even GTR's. I love my MSP but mod for mod it won't even be in the same realm as my EVO X.
