Which would you prefer?! both lie around the same price range. give me some input and why. don't just say HKS FTW or something like that. explain. fitting/sound/gains/etc.
With the research that I have made I would recommend going with the Corksport CBE. Great sound and value. Most will argue that it is a waste, but I am sure there is a tiny gain and is also less intrusive than a downpipe. Go with what you feel comfortable with.
Ya........Catbacks are not a waste to all of us. Some of us live in states were there are REAL strict emissions laws. Gotta watch out for the smog cops. I want my MS3 to sound different.
I have the corksport and the sound is so sexy. Best exhaust I have heard yet on an ms3. Great craftsmanship also. Gets my vote. HKS has always been overrated as far as Im concerned.

I'm waiting for mine to show up some day in front of my door (they are on back-order). I haven't heard one in person, but looking at pictures, videos, and specs, for the price, you can't beat it.
I have heard HKS in a video online and for me it sounds too clunker like. Like an old 80s car with a rusted out exhaust system...
I prefer the clean tuned sound in an exhaust...kind of like a Ferrari or Porsche exahust sound (Cork Sport) to a V-8 dragster straight pipe sound (HKS)...

i wouldnt mind doing the full turbo back whenever. After coming from a 3" GHL TBE on my GTI, i kinda wanna stick to something a little more quiet but with great power gains. the GHL was amazing loud and tiring when u want some peice of mind. So i guess CORKSPORT FTW. sounds great. just wondering what other peoples input were.
Another question. Is the Downpipe or turboback exhaust good for our cars? I'm just asking this because at time it could lead to premature turbo failure due to boost creep or the turbo just spooling too freely. of course the power gains are there, is it reliable?
Cobb's TBE is supposed to be quiet and probably will be the most 'liveable". I think at idle it's actually quieter and at WOT not much louder...sounds nice though. Their WRX system is around 1225 though....and the MS3 may cost a little bit more (has muffler and resonator vs just muffler for WRX). Corksport's TBE is like 800 when you buy it all together. I've PMed a couple people who have the corksport TBE and they have all said it's not too loud or anything. One person liked it a bit more keeping the stock mid pipe (cat)..said it wasn't quite as loud. I'm probably going to get a high flow cat for the mid pipe, that might quiet it down a little. But... I haven't got mine yet so I don't have any first hand experience for ya.
