Climate control in 06 touring

I just got a used 06 touring (have 2012 sport stick too). It has the manual climate control knobs but I'd really like to get the auto climate control. Does anyone know if I need to just change to that climate control unit or do I have to do a lot more, like wiring or other things? I'm good enough that I can change the stereo and stuff like that but just don't have the time or inclination to do much more.

I believe that switching to the auto climate control is more involved than just changing the face-plate/knob unit. There are associated sensors (one for sunlight on the dash, another for interior temperature behind the dash) that would have to be purchased and wired in. If the car doesn't have the auto climate control it can't really be a Touring trim in 06, just a really loaded Sport. Does it also have fog lights and a sunroof? Oh, and welcome to the forum!

I have sunroof and 6 disc cd changer but no foglights or auto climate control. It was in a previous accident so maybe the repairer didn't bother putting the foglights or auto climate control back in. Or just a loaded sport model. you're probably right.
I did get it cheap ($6600) with only 43K miles.

That is a good price for those miles! I got mine at auction with 110K for five grand so you did really well. What color is yours? Incidentally if your car has the ring switch on the headlight stalk but no foglights out front, that will tell you if the fogs were deleted after the fact. IIRC the only thing you couldn't option into a Sport trim in 06 was the auto climate control. Look on the bright side, the lighting in the manual climate control panel almost NEVER burns out LOL

The windshield would have to be replaced as well as there is a cutout I believe in the windshield for a sensor that measures temp outside to compare it to the inside, so it would not work with regular windshield.

What color are your mirrors? Body color or black? I have an upgraded Sport that has every Touring option except auto CC and body-colored mirror caps.
