I am posting this for my friend who is currently on the road about an hour and a half away from his house.
He has a stock mazdaspeed protege with a cold air intake and 3in exhaust everything else stock
He said his car stumbles when it goes under more load than 10in of vacuum. He recently replaced the fuel pump with a better Bosch one and all of his ignition coils plugs and wires. His turbo has an oil leak for a while now and we were wondering if that might be it. He has 26-28in of vacuum at idle which is consistent with it before it started running bad. It happened when he was romping on it past a truck on the highway. I was also thinking it might be a fuel pressure regulator because it just kinda bogs stumbles and falls flat on its face when you try to accelerate. It idles fine which would tell me the ignition is good and the timing chain don't jump a tooth. Any ideas?
Ps he just said his cel popped on so he is going to go get it scanned by the professionals at advanced auto lol I'll keep you updated on what his codes ate
