So as the title states, I can't put any more than like a second at a time with the gas pump , it keeps clicking and stopping. Any ideas? I searched a little but couldn't find this occurrence on a protege
Also been having an engine light come on periodically p0455 evap system leak (small)

I've had the pump problem once or twice. It seems to depend on the pump, not my car. I just hold it at a different angle and away it goes.

Yeah so I tried it at different angles and it didn't work. So I guess I'm gonna have to figure out which line under the car goes to the vent for the tank

So all I did to fix it was locating the vent hose for the gas tank and I blew compressed air into it and some sandy stuff came out and I cleaned out all the other air hoses under the rear driver side as well and I'm back to filling up again!

You, or previous owner over filled the fueling system with gasoline. It clogs the EVAP canister, and all that other fueling system emmisions crap. I did the same thing to mine trying to squeeze an extra gallon in while filling.

I suspected something else was the culprit besides maximizing the gas pumped in to the tank. I do it everytime with the MSP and have never had a problem filling or otherwise over the past 10+ years and 98K miles. Have done the samething with every vehicle that I ever owned also.

Good to see that OP resolved his issue.

Hey it's been cold here in Missouri so I haven't got around to taking pics its should be warmer out and I'll take a few this week

I took the white thing off and the black canister both off and took an air hose and blew every hose out clean the one that leads up by the filler neck actually blew quite a bit of crap out of there. Call it coincidence but now I'm even getting better mpg!

Here u go
