Can the Stock hood fit inside the protege 5?

I've been told it can but really does it fit? Because I've measured the hood and what I have to work with inside the car, and well it seems a really tight fit or will not fit at all.

Only reason I'm asking is because I'm about to go get a carbon fiber hood and I'll need to haul that some how for 2 hrs maybe longer. Sure I can tie it up on the roof with the roof racks, but I'm afraid I'll lose it up there.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

But if I have to I'll put my roof racks back on and tie the cf hood up there.

i think your best bet is to put the back seat down and slide the hood in at an angle. but make sure the corners are padded or something that way it won't crack, or you don't scratch up the interior or hood. good luck

If you remove your OEM hood, then you can just drive it to pickup and install the CF hood.

Keep the bolts.

That's how I did it.

that would be possible for a 15 minute drive, not a 2 hour drive (lol2)

just take off your OEM hood and test it, i really think it would fit.

I've done it countless times. Move up the front seats (you can move them back once the hood is in), open the rear passenger door to give you room to angle the hood in. Position the hood so that the corners are facing downwards on the passenger side. You might what to put some foam or something around the corners to protect both them and the interior of your car from scratches.

pfft, quit jerking him around, it fits, just fold it in half and stuff it in... (shady)

Thats how a friend of mine got my old hood. He took his current one off and drove some 2 + hours hoodless to meet me. Then we installed the the hood on his car and he drove back home.

can u get a ticket for driving without a hood? what would u tell the cops?

I'm on my way to get a new hood.

Besides have you ever noticed how many classic street rods run without hoods or even front fenders?
