Broken I/C Pipe

I'm considering trying to take up the lemon law but since the problems keep getting fixed other than hesitation, I don't think it'd work.

Dear t3ase,

It seems the car gods have caught wind of your little plan for ORANGE TINT and have punished you accordingly. Quick go to your local speed shop and blow a paycheck to cover for your sins. Neons are ugly stock, we don't have to follow suit with frickin orange tint. Race not Rice

Dude, I don't even know who the hell you are. You come on here with a now total of 12 posts and start talking s*** about other people's cars? That's definately not how you gain respect around here and the attitude/ignorance/arrogance you have is why this board has gone to hell. Please do not ever reply to posts, again.

And uh, what are you talking about "Neons are ugly stock"? I have a ******* MSP, not a Neon. Now as far as the "Race not Rice" goes, I do not "live my life a quarter mile at a time" and I'm not all about racing. Ever consider some people are in this game for show?

Thanks.

Everyone has their opinions it looks like, but respect other's choices please. This post has nothing to do with the topic at all.

Holy LORD that is a long list! I do not mean any offense by this t3, but I think it's safe to say you have the shittiest MSP ever built! LOL.....I probably shouldn't have said that.....I'm probably next.

I did notice though, you DON'T have (or didn't list) the CLUNK!!!! So see, you're 1 of the "lucky" ones that doesn't have it!!!! Lucky you!!!:D

Edit: - just added the word "have" in first sentence, 2nd paragraph.

I'm curious as to if the "rattling" I'm thinking is the new Kenwood enclosure is actually the clunk.

Probably not. I didn't have the clunk until today (it's only in the 50s today and that might be why). Previously I thought the "clunk" was just a bad description and that it wasn't really a "cluck" but more a rattle or whatever. But now I know, trust me, it IS a CLUNK! If you have it, you'll know it because that's exactly what it is -- a CLUNK! Arg:'( :'( :'(

Funny thing is, my 2000 ES had the "clunk" problem too I think, now that I finally heard it on the Speed. I always thought it was something in the trunk making noise.

Lmeon law is if they have to fix the same thing more then 3 times in a year. Even if they can fix it if it keeps breaking its a lemon.

t3ase, sorry to hear about all of ur probs! man, that list is CRAZY long!!! I had the same rattle in the trunk after they replaced my sub too. they did not reinstall the "weather stripping/vibration buffer" that was with the first box. I went down to Lowes, got some 3/4" x 1" foam weather stripping, dropped the box w/ only 4 bolts, istalled the stuff (one side of the foam was sticky), and WHALA.... fixed the rattle! took me longer to dive to Lowes then it did to fix it! give it a try, u wont be sorry!

I'm pretty pissed at my dealership since they scratched up my radio chassis and emblem on the steering wheel. Last time I took it in, the guy filled the coolant but kinked the hose so it's literally overflown through the resivoir twice since then.

I called him today regarding the broken I/C pipe and he calls back at 10 telling me I "must be there by 1pm for the 'master tech' to look at it or else". I went back to sleep and woke up at around 2pm. Screw them. I'm just wondering if another dealership will fix the radio chassis/steering wheel or if I'll have to go back to that specific dealership.

By the way, the dealership is Roger Beasley Mazda on Burnet Rd. in Austin, TX. Sales guys were incredible (of course) but the service is slacking, IMO. Stay away from there if at all possible. There's a new dealership in Georgetown that looks REAL nice on their website. Maybe the newer techs won't be so careless with my car.

yea, w/ that many probs, I would definitely get a full inspection of ALL of ur issues by another service dpt.! A 2nd opinion could never hurt! plus, it sounds like the tecks at the one u have been going to are a bunch of lazy slobs... just my $.02

what all of your problems are coming from is your huge expectations of the car and the service that is performed on your car.

do all the work your self and don't rely on someone doing that s*** for you, and on top of that if you think there is a problem with something suck it up and do a little investigation on what you think might be causing the problem

I personally took the car back from mazda and made it my own personalised car It sounds, drives, and looks exactly the way I want it to, and every change has been my idea and my work.

He paid for a new car not a list of problems to fix. That logic would screw every consumer. Well, I bought a new computer. Doesn't work right so I think I will work on it for a few weeks. Now it works. Sure am glad I bought a new computer. F that

T3ease- take in your list as is (minus commentary stating "car characteristics") and ask them to fix it and state what can't be fixed. They should replace your stereo plastic or DIN.

Update: The new radio HU is in, they're just waiting on the radio surround piece. I had to b**** to the regional director about it even while he was sitting in my driver's seat staring at it before they'd order the new one.

Hesitation is still existant, but not to such an extent thanks to JoePMBC's FPR kit.

I've also disconnected the stock sub in favor of two JL 10W0's. I've turned the amp gain back up a bit and have not changed any fuses since.

Battery died yet again.

Passenger seat bolt was loose and began causing a rattle. I've tightened it down myself, but now I wonder about the safety of having seats which aren't secured very well.

Broken I/C pipe is still there, the dealership ordered a MAF pipe, not the BPV to I/C pipe. I've epoxied it and taped it up in the mean time.

What else... I have two dings in my doors, but they do not look in any way caused by a door. I'm wondering if it happened while at the dealership, as I was talking to a couple tonight who went to the same dealership and found scratches/dings on their car after picking it up from service.

Radio antenna black cover is still hanging there, not connected to the glass as it was. They "fixed" it, only to have it fall back off again.

Driver's side stock foglight bulb went out; replaced with aftermarket H3 bulb.

There's now tape goo all over the plastic black engine cover/airbox from me taping the I/C piping all up.

I think that's it for now. I'll be sure to get the real list when I go back to the dealer and I'll post any new problems.
