Anyone have this setup right now? Blitz Duall TT and Joe P MBC/EBC? Thoughts? Any complications?

how would a specific turbo timer/mbc setup cause complications? i think you should ask if there any problems on each mod on its own.

I was talking about electrical hook up complications..... does joe p mbc require hookup in the same area? did you use cigarette lighter for this one? etc etc

tis better to ask then to find out later when i have a problem that someone else had the same

MBC = Manual Boost Controller (IE: Get off your ass, open the hood, get out, turn the screw a bit. Drive around to test adjustment and adjust accordingly.)

EBC = Electronic Boost Controller (IE: Be lazy and shell out more cash for it, though. Will need to be hooked up to power source. I'd hook it up to another source than the cigarette adapter, as in my car, the cigarette adapter reads ~1.3volt less than the power at the ignition. Don't know why.

so the manual boost controller is same s*** minus nice in dash setup?

I'd guess adjusting the MBC proves easy if you have a boost gauge to compare it with and what not?

Is the Joe P MBC widely used and reliable?

I'm using it and I know quite a few others here are, too. I'm peaking at around 13psi right now and steady out to 12. It does it's job without the hefty price tag and hasn't failed me yet. Not much more to say.

.73 hkPa = 10.59 psi
.72 hkPa = 10.44 psi
.71 hkPa = 10.30 psi
.70 hkPa = 10.15 psi
.69 hkPa = 10.00 psi
.68 hkPa = 9.86 psi
.67 hkPa = 9.72 psi
.66 hkPa = 9.57 psi
.65 hkPa = 9.43 psi

how much psi are you "comfortably" running with your Joe P MBC?

how noticeable is it when you get it installed?

how hard was it to install?

I'm "comfortably" running 13psi peak and 12 steady, but I also have colder plugs and I'm always on 93+ gas. Hell, even the difference even from 5psi to 9psi was huge. I'd definately recommend it.

Installation pretty easy, although I did crack the stock hoses and replaced them with 3/16th hose. No biggie. There's a thread around here that shows step by step directions of the MBC install. If you search for it...hell...hold on, I'll just find it for you.

Here it is thanks to xsivspd.

if you want to run that high, make sure you get 93 octane and colder plugs. pkay if you dont and are just running the mbc with like..91 octane..just go 9 psi.

Very good advice. Thank you.

Not everyone needs to run boost as high as some of us are going. I stayed at 9/10psi until I had a shop here in Round Rock look at the car and do a few minor zero-dollar modifications to help the car out a bit. Unfortunately I left the car with them for a day so I don't know exactly what all they did.

so you didnt pay any or much money tease? dont see what anyone could do to the car to help it run that psi without a piggyback or put in adjustable cam gears to retard timing.
i think i recall shawn saying something about passing the fuel injector effiency level at over 10 or 11 psi...dont remember correctly but somewhere around that psi.
i myself wanna do 12 also, ill bet this car can do 12 fine, with 93 octane and plugs.

I was starting to detonate a little at 9psi w/ 91 octane and stock plugs....just have to be careful and listen.

I always (and I mean - ALWAYS) run 93 octane Amoco Premium, or Exxon. 'Never anything less than 93 octane. You shouldn't, even if you aren't adding boost. That engine set-up (turbo, etc...) really needs at least 93. That's why it has that PREMIUM FUEL only sticker inside the gas door. I also run 93 octane in my wifes ES. Always!

At 9-10psi; everything is gold! I might crank it up a bit more, but that's it. I am running stock plugs. No detonation.

All we have out here in Cali is 91 octane

That is weird..huh? And the prices now? Maybe they adjust the engine mapping somehow for CA MSPs, so there isn't a problem with 91 octane. :wtf:

Yeah that would be nice...Last time I filled up, it was 2.48 for premium..

Ouch! I remember on vacation in April; it was about that when I filled up in Palm Springs. Nice place to visit,,,but...

(although; I was born in Riverside, CA)

which plugs do you reccomend?

For the most part I'll probably just run it at 9psi for day to day driving and maybe up it when i go to the track.

BTW.... going to get my car dyno'd this week at an rx7 meet we're having.... my MBC should be in later this week.... what are you guessing I'll dyno at?
