OK guys I have put together a small list of what I think are some of the best chase scenes to ever be put on film. If you don't like any of my choices then select other and post your choice.

I have to go with Ronin and Who am i. That Lancer was no joke and the S8 was a luxury beast.Out of all the cars Eleanor was my favorite though, that b**** was just bad ass American muscle.

Yeah Ronin was my Pick too. I just love watching chase scenes from europe with all of the tight streets and especially when it is in a AWD TURBO BEast like an S8. WHO AM I . I am glad I am not the only one who knows this movie. I am a pretty big Jackie Chan Fan ( I love the original Drunken Master) Love the part in the Lancer though where they are sitting in gravel and she does a 4 wheel burnout in it and then again when it is sitting on it's side doing donuts. Have to say I actually love all of the chases. Like in driven where they blast past the newspaper stand (cracks me up everytime) and the girl who's dress goes flyiong up(can you say brake check) But for those of us that are a little older I have to say that one of the best chase scenes was in the original Cannonball Run with the girls in the COuntach spray painting the sign and then going and changing colors on the car just to mess with the cops. Wow is that one a blast from the past.

HAHA Cannonball run, damn thats old school man.Hey i think Jackie Chan was in that movie too.He was racing in some riced out hatchback or van of sometype with all kinds of computers and s*** inside.HAHA thats too funny!!

I want two votes, Ronin and Elanore. I got to see elenore in person at a car show in Dallas last year. Sweet car! It even had the "Go Baby Go" button in there.

Yeah I heard the Transporter has some pretty good scenes in it. I gotta get out more.

And yes Jackie Chan was in that movie With the Really big tall guy (JAWS FROM 007) in a Mitsubishi I think Starion or something that had all these computers and gizmos and even turns into a submarine at one point.

Hey anyone here can recreate the eleanor chase scene. I saw that they are selling replicas of the car. complete turnkey nitrous and all was like $60k or something. I just love the way that car looks. MMMMMMMMMM GO BABY GO

That's Cannonball Run II. In Cannonball Run Jackie was co-driver with another Chinese actor (although I think they were supposed to be Japanese in the movie) and they were driving a Subaru.

I have to give my vote to Ronin (even over the Ferrari/Aston Martin chase in Goldeneye, which could be the best scene ever in a Pierce Brosnan Bond film.) I will vote for Ronin not only because I loved the movie and the car chases in it, but because the director, the late John Frankenheimer, was truly a car nut. Please, go read this article about Frankenheimer. He made many great movies and I will always regret that he didn't have time to record a commentary for his racing classic "Grand Prix", which is a great racing film second only to "LeMans" (and in some ways, equal to or better than.) As you'll see in the article, he owned "an awesome S-class sedan, its trunk packed with an enormous bottle of nitrous-oxide" much like the S8 in Ronin.

Thanks for correcting me. I must be getting older than I thought and my mind is going. The first few kind of blended together or maybe I just thought about ( The girl that played DAISY) unzipping that spandex suit she was wearing and bending over the countach. OK well I am going to have to be alone for a little while. J/k And I would have to agree about the article on RONIN and Frankenheimer.. Pretty good and insightful. I will have to add one more thing that I liked about RONIN too though and that would be Robert Deniro. Are you talking to me...., you must be talking to me .... Great actor.

Ronin had a couple of good car chases, the second one where the chick's driving the BMW 5 series thru the tunnels. The Audi one is still the tops, though.
I don't know if this was in the Frankenheimer interview or not, but I saw the cast interviews, and when they talked to Skip Sudduth (the driver of the Audi) he asked if he could actually do the driving instead of a stunt driver, to make it look real. They told him "OK, but the first time I see brake lights come on, you're out!!"

Wasn't Jackie Chan watching porn while driving the Subaru in Cannonball Run?

Two movies everyone has forgotten, the first is Bullitt...the second is the origional Gone in 60 Seconds. Keep in mind that both of these were filmed in the early 70's. Bullitt was just a great chase through San Francisco.
If you have not seen the origional Gone in 60 Seconds, try and watch an old copy with the origional soundtrack, they use the actual car's engine/exhaust sounds...the newer copies they ruined it. This is my favorite because they used one Mustang for the entire chase scene. Wrecked and all...boy they beat the hell out of it. Also, look on the web for info about the origional, there is lots of trivia like how one wreck in the movie was a screw up by a stunt driver and it allmoast killed the director and star.
It is a really bad acting movie, but the chase is worth it.

Too old? (The movie, not me)

How about the "classic" car chase scene from the Steve McQueen movie - "Bullit"? How ever old, that still remains as one of the better and exciting car chases ever.

Actually I enjoyed the chase scenes from the Italian Job and Bullit the most. With the Minis running through the sewer drains and shopping area.

Bullitt......Hands Down......No music for the whole chase scene which lasts about 10 minutes or more. Just the sounds of a Hemi Dodge Charger and a 390 cube Mustang GT Fastback tearing ass through San Fran. And Steve McQueen did alot of the driving himself. I get chills whenever I watch the scene.

I voted for Ronin...(John Frankenheimer will be missed!) but you missed a couple of favs: Bullitt - rocketing a Mustang & a Dodge Charger through the Streets of San Francisco! (Notice that the Charger loses FIVE wheel covers during the chase. Big Steve McQueen's Mustang with the American Racing Toru-D wheels! Great look. But topping the list is the one car/one subway train chase in The French Connection! Gene Hackman destroying a 70s Pontiac Lemans in Brooklyn is great stuff. Next time you watch it - look for the real accident that made the film!

I remember that chase scene from Bullit! I saw that while I was in the Hospital a few months ago. Aren't we leaving out "The French Connection" and "The Bourne Identity?" By the way "Who am I" had some daring s*** done in that Evo! The fight scene at the end with Ron Shmoorenburg (fast feet) was my favorite part!
