I am running into a couple of kinks in the install. For one, the intercooler will not fit. It keeps rubbing against the bumper (metal), and the A/C radiator. :wtf: The Power Steering cooling lines run right in the middle of where my pipes connect to the intercooler. Did anyone else have the same problems? How did you fix them. Need fast responses.

As you know from my post Corky's shop did my install but both the probs you describe are known. My power steering cooler had to be moved and part of the rear of the bumper had to be cut away for the intercooler to fit. Check with someone else on the Forum like Captain KRM P5 who did their own install. Good luck!

My bumper is off the car as of now, and it just seems that the intercooler is too thick.

To the rescue.

I had all the same issues. you have do drill a hole into the bottom of the bumper metal then shoot a screw in there to secure power steering cooler away from the intercooler. I used some radio back strapping and silicone to hold it in place with out ratlling.

On the sliced segment of his used to mount the bottom of the intercooler use hot glue once the IC is in place otherwise the damn hose will move and the I/C will ratlle like crazy, athough it will any way unless you also use hot glue or silicon to bridge the gap between the IC and bumper in the front.

I used a bolt and nut I had lying around and a small peice of hose to space the out one side of the I/C.

The bumper has to be realy cut up to fit. Both under the car and in the top tray.

I will email you some pictures of all this.

Now you know some of the reasons I have been pissed that Corky and FM haven't used an MP3 and Why There have to be more differences between 5 and MP3 no one has stumbled across yet if there are this many structural differences.

No doubt,,,, I had the same problem. We finally made the IC fit and the power stearing lines just go in front of the IC...

I still have never gotten the lower heat sheild to fit.. Has anyone else had this problem? The bends don't work at all, and he's sent me two of them. :(

Hell yes its called a 5 IB hammer and a Unabit to make the holes work. Too bad I didn't notice that problem before the heat of the turbo baked the fire pertecting cloth on the hood.

Yep. I am curently trying to slide the damn clamp over the coupling on the intercooler, but am having difficulty doing so. I am using the remommended clamps (38-50), but they seem too small. What's your take on the situation?

He sent you the wrong ones too. The ones I got were 2" max clamps and of coarse the pipes alone are 2" add the coupling and your over 2.25". I had to go buy 8 more clamps or wait a few days to get the right ones.

Yes... The clamps for the IC piping AND the intake piping are too small-as well as some others. I went out and bought some other bigger ones and lost track of what was too small after a while. See if you can't make them work, we tried and I think got 2 of them on there.

WTF!!! I need my car running tomorrow!

heheh uh oh!!

Yeah mine took 3 FULL days of work, and that's with two (three at some points) guys working... And one of the guys was an Audi Technician!!!

I'd say the longest part for us was..... Hmmmm well I gues all of the section had their kinks for us. We made lots of calls to Corky.

I guess I will be getting new hose clamps tonight! Also my radiator hose I ****** up yesterday!!

How?
Since I am the king of patching F-ups, I bet we can figure something out.

Ya, I messed my rad hose up to. Luckily I live 1/2 mile from checker... Like I said-I spent about 100 bucks on replacements parts.

Nope it retains both!!! Which is amazing. But I already went ahead and had the second bypassed and I'm working on the primary cat now. Seeing if I can find a salvaged Protege somewhere-sot ha tI can hollow that one out.

Should give me 3-4% more power to the turbo.

please rate how hard it is to install the BEGI turbo setup. 1 being easy and 10 being hard. Also keep in mind i will have my friend that is an expert with turbos. he designed his own turbo setup and stuff. he currently has a dodge omni GLH 2.2 L runngin 18 pounds of boost and runs mid 12sec 1/4. so lets say he knows what is he doing. so how hard would it be (with him helps me) to install on my MP3. Also has any one had problem with this kit on the MP3?
Thanks
