Bar's head gasket and cooling sealant?

Having some issues with my car getting hot and I've noticed some combustion gases in coolant overflow tank. No CEL at all and no water in coolant. Anyone ever use bars head gasket repair (part #1111) or head gasket and cooling sealant with carbon fiber (# HG-1)? need help as I'm goin to mid Ohio on Friday!

If you put it in your coolant and it "magicly" fixes the problem its basicly stop leak. May or may not work but will do more damage in the long run. And I def wouldn't trust it for a road trip but that's just me

It's gonna be about an hour and a half of driving. It goes in coolant, seals when it hits combustion gases, and this the coolant with some chemical in it. I guess they use this s*** on northstar head gaskets and it works.

Well i tried it. No more water or smoke coming out the exhaust. Letting it cool now

Sweet hopefully it works out for you. Do you plan on leaving it like that or doing the head gasket? I guess as long as its working no point in all that right? I would recomend changing the oil in case some coolant got in the oil. I had a bad experience with water in oil

Sorry to say but nine times out of ten "stop leak" in any form is a bandaid.. Your head gasket is bad it needs fixing. Now whether its in a day a week or a year no one can say. But if its sold on a shelf at Walmart and is said to save you tons of money on a major repair its almost always snake oil.. Cross your fingers and hope the stop leak doesn't clog your heater core while it in there.. Sorry for being a Debby Downer about this. But im just passing my stop leak experiences, both personal and work, on to you..

Thanks guys, I made it to and from mid Ohio so far. I plan on gettin it done soon. Just gotta get fund or wait for the next Mazda cookout and get some extra hands in it

I know this is an old thread, but i am having issues similar to OP (overheated, now white smoke from exhaust & coolant on spark plug). How long did the Bars leak fix last? which one did u use p/n 1111 or HG-1? Please let me know, thanks in advance.

My friend I know costly and/or time-consuming but my dad's car went through identical symptoms and head gasket repair seemed to be the end of the problem. Fan replacement, thermostat, relay replacement, reflush, nothing helped. And there where no usual head gasket symptoms, although I guess it was damaged on a previous radiator failure (cracked).
