AutoRnD Poll: Which Vented Hood To Make

Alright guys,

We have two options, shoot I can make both if there are 10 for each. I must submit pictures to the maker for an estimate on the new design proposals.

#1: OE EVO8 style vent, functional and it will be average priced. Retail around $700.00 plus shipping. You guys get for: about $625.00 shipped.


#2: more Intricate Gialla Style hood, what i would like to go for. This one has side vents/louvers next to the OE EVO VENT. I'm sure it will cost more, just don't know how much. Prob around $1000.00 retail.

Hey Rishie, as long as the fitment as is good as the Fiber Images hoods you sell, I would be interested. Everyhood I have seen on the protege doesn't come close the fitment of the Fiber Images.

Can it be made with holes for the windshield squirters if we request it?

so if the stock one is 700retail...625shipped GB, that would make the 100retail Gialla style about $900shipped. Not bad but I still cant see how you would make those louvers flow with the P5 hood without setting them way forward where the raised sides of the hood are large enoguh to fit them.

also, shouldnt this thread be opened to other protege owners(not just in the P5 forum) since it should fit any 01+protege?

maybe a new thread is in order for the appearance section once youc an nail down some exact prices on the different styles of hoods. I think it would definitely be possible to get at least 10 buyers in on each style(stock EVO8 and gialla) between all the 01+ protege owners on this board.

Rishie I'm gonna try to be optimistic about this but I'm fairly confident I know where this group buy is gonna go. Thanks for doing this though. I'm not really interested in hoods right now as there are more pertinant mods to be done but I'll put out an idea and see if anyone might like the idea. Maybe the Gialla Style hood without the center louves and the ram intake on the other side.

yeah. that thought also occured to me...just not long enough to actually post it.

What about Just the louvers on the side of the hood and no evo vent...a la NFS-U Formula Style CF hood.

also, as someone else said, I can see where this is going(down the tubes it looks (shrug)) maybe not, the whole thing just seems shady since no one can decide on the style.

My point is how many of the people that voted will actually pay. I have the money and i bet 50% of the people who voted for the more expensive hood either a) arent even looking for a new hood or b) wont pay when it comes time.
