Anyone live in Chicago and want to make a quick $50 bucks?

Hi there, new to the forum, have been looking for a mazdaspeed6. I found one in the Chicago area but I would prefer if someone unbiased could give me a more accurate description of its condition. I live in NY so going out there just to look doesnt make sense. So if anyone out there would be willing to go take a look at the car (its at a dealer) I would paypal them $50 bucks for their time and a cell phone pic of the car so I know they went. Please send me a message if interested. Thanks! Jon

Its not too far from me. I can make it up there tomorrow afternoon around 4:30-5:00

Awesome thanks. It is on there website. Low miles and priced right but front seat has a lot of wear and looks to be a dent or two and wheels are aftermarket so I want to make sure it is not a wreck. carfax is clean though. Also looks like it moved from one dealer down the road so just want to make sure its clean

sounds fishy to me...idk i did the seach and saw atleast 7-10 cars with the price range being around 17 or 18 grand. i wouldnt travel that far for a car when there are alot of local ones here to look at...that white one looks nice lol..well goodluck. hope all goes well for you

also what part of ny are you?

Do they use a lot of road salt during the winters in ny? That may be something you may want to consider buying a car from this area as it may have more corrosion than ones outside the " salt belt" just an FYI.
Also, I see quite a few low milage 06s around here in the 14-16 range

The front end looks a little off in terms of bumper / hood / headlight fitment.

However, looks nice otherwise, and those are pricey Mazdaspeed wheels it comes with.

oh thanks for the heads up on the wheels, never saw them on any other ones I was looking at. Am I right that the price on it seems on the low side

Nate's right...the front-end looks a bit misaligned, especially the driver-side photo. The grill opening shouldn't be that wide at the hood, and the hood should follow the same line from fender to fender.

The paint on the front bumper seems much darker, easily more than it should be.

But, it does have the wheels. Just remember the one thing about carfax...it doesn't always accurately reflect what the car has been through.

All that being said, if it seems like a good buy, and GoFast can confirm it, it may be worth it...but smokeys36shop is right...there has to be a couple of them closer to you that you can put eyes on..your own eyes.

GL with the purchase. You'll enjoy it no matter where you buy one from.

yea in the close ups of the headlights in both pics you can see the fenders stick out a little to far over the headlights and the contour around the headlights from the bumper and fenders looks off..my honest opinion..the car has been hit..its not worth the trouble or hassle in my opinion. save yourself the $50 to have someone look at it...and save yourself a trip to Chicago.

reasons why i wouldnt want to travel that far to buy a car...if the car is a lemon u gotta drive all the way back there. from buffalo to chicago is about an 8 hour drive which sucks. all of that hassle i wouldnt want to deal with.

as for your warranty its 4 years or 50,000 miles from the purchase date of the car. so you would want to call mazda and see what time frame this car would go up on its warranty before buying it.

also most dealership will also offer an extended warranty and it might be something to look into with the mazdaspeed 6's if your a new buyer . now it looks like this company may seem like a great company and i am not downing the idea of getting anything from them but it seems like it would be a long drive for warranty work lol

in the end i stand by my suggestion of looking in your local area. the place where i got my mazda is an hour away from me. and rez is right about carfax's and how sometimes they don't always accurately showing what the car has been through.

So I was by friends house who was pretty close to there so I stopped by and checked things out and all I gotta say is I want those rims badly
