Anyone else notice numb throttle response?

So I was messing around today and I noticed that the stock computer will cut out repeated stabs at the throttle. It also doesn't respond well to rev matching on down shifts. You think there is anyway to quicken the response in the computer? Stupid drive by wire....(pissed)

This is the first I've heard of this for this car. Not responding well to rev matching would be a huge disappointment for me. It could be the nature of the car that you need to adapt to.

For instance my 3 cars, all manual, require a bit of adjustment each time i jump in one. The CX5 has a bit of this numb throttle response you mention. It seems like it requires a little patience and separation of inputs to really nail down the heel toe smoothly. As to where the Miata is much more forgiving.

I've not had to opportunity to look threw what tables mazdaedit has just yet but I'm sure there is some sort of accelerator pedal position translation tables. However I don't feel as this would provide the fix your looking for.

I think a lot has to do with how damn quiet the car is. I'd like to do a cat back and see of it helps any.

Fwiw, all my cars still have the factory cat-back system. It's more about feel and muscle memory than sound.

Everyone try this put it in gear and get rolling. Then with the clutch out blip the throttle fast 3 times, I bet the computer throws two of those blips out the window..what a pain!
