Air Conditioning

Anyone know why when you turn the heat on auto the AC button light comes on and ac shows up with the car temp? It happens even when its cold and the heat should be on instead of ac? If i turn off auto, set the temp and turn it up it heats the car much faster. I'm probably doing something wrong, so please let me know.

yeah, I HATE THIS. I never use the auto settings because of it.

Actually, I gotta say I think the A/C compressor turns on whenever you turn the fan on regardless of what setting you have for the climate control

Give it a try:
1. Make sure your fan is running without AUTO, A/C or Defrosters on.
2. Turn the system off.
3. Make sure you are at idle and the radio is off.
4. Turn the fan on one click.
5. Tell me you do not feel the compressor turn on.
6. Sit at idle for a bit; watch your tach and listen

I guarentee you you'll notice the tach change and the compressor switch on and off. I truly hope this is happening to everyone else.
