adding AUX?

I have a 2003 Protege ES and im wondering what i need to do to add an AUX input so i can plug in my phone.

get a different stereo that has a aux plugin. that's really it, or u can go for one of those fm transmitters that plug into the phone and then transmit over an fm radio signal that you tune your current stereo onto to listen to the tunes.

I have an OEM cassette deck in my 2000 ES and it works way better than an FM x-mitter.
That said, Google Auxmod, they might have something if they're still around.

You can get a basic head unit with AUX input for very cheap these days. Considering that the protege is almost 10 years old, it isn't worth the headache seeking the auxmod (not sure if anyone even carries it anymore) when you can get so much better sound for your dollar by upgrading the entire head unit. Plus, if you go with a single DIN head unit, you'll gain a nifty storage bin below it to place your iPod

I actually still have my old one with just an headphone plug in, I wouldn't mind selling it.........
