Adding a DVD player

:
2009 Mazda 5 Sport
I didn't see anything when searching

Looking at adding video to the 5 before the summer road trips start

Anyone have either an aftermarket or OEM system installed?
Roof mount, built-in headrest, or connects to headrest?

Here is my post: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...all-aftermarket-stereo-on-a-2012-2013-Mazda-5
You can find links to back DVD player at the bottom of the video on that thread.
Others posted theirs: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?114234-Stock-Stereo-Sat-Radio-Tape-Decks-iPod

PS. You may want to modify your profile to include car info, different things apply to different years, so if we know what car you have, can provide more relevant help.

2009 is a little different to what I made the video for but about 90% the same.
The same website also sells the DVD/GPS players and headrests with screens and drop down DVD.
because pre-2012 models had GPS and drop down screen as an option, I'm sure all the mounting spots are there and you can get stock hardware on ebay/junk yard if you don't wanna go aftermarket.

What is the motivation for the DVD player? Is it for yourself or passengers (kids) in the back? Having a DVD playback enabled HU does little for the passengers in the back and technically you are not "suppose" to playback movies while moving. The front dash screen is only good for GPS.

I’ve been very happy with using a Samsung SE-208BW DVD ($60) with an iPad positioned in the middle for both kids to share. My next mod is to hardwire a Kinivo BTC450 for Bluetooth so I can eliminate some wires.
