5 GT trailer hitch - Curt Mfg?

Hey there.
Has anyone installed a Curt Mfg. model 11338 on their 5 Grand Touring? I called them, as their web site shows it fitting only the Sport, and they wouldn't commit to it fitting or not. Of the 3 on eTrailer's web site the Curt looks the most robust.
Thanks!

structurally there is no difference between a GS and GT mazda 5 the diference is in the accesories! the structure is identical.

That's the same design as the hitch marketed by UHaul.

On their site, it's specified for all models.

Poking into the installation instructions, they're also marked "11338" as well as UHaul's P/N 24754, along with a Curt Mfg. disclaimer at the bottom.

Enjoy.

Curt Hitch OK on GT!

Hi there,

I've got a Mazda5 GT with the Curt hitch installed. No issues whatsoever, but bear in mind I use my hitch only for a bike hitch rack.

Thanks!

Thanks for all of the replies, I'll order my Curt today!
(I am going to use this only for my bicycle hitch rack, as well)

Glad to see this thread already exists as I was on ebay last week and found the Curt hitch and was wondering if it would fit on my GT as well. Does anyone have suggestions on a hitch attachment for trailer lights?

What I'd like to know is how much weight the 5 can tow and if it'd require a transmission cooler. Nothing too heavy just a single jet ski. Also, what about a pop-up camper trailer?

The US spec 5 says no towing in the manual.
The euro 5 has a 2000 pound max which is a class I rating.
You should be fine as long as you don't go over the class I rating.
