I'm running Enkei EKM3 wheels, 18"x7.5" with an offset of 45mm and dropped on Eibach springs. Looking at replacing the tires this spring with Hankook Ventus V12s, can i run a 235/40 tire without rubbing issues or should I stick with a 225/40"?
Yup, pretty much. I'd go with the 235/40's since it'll be nice and squared/tad chunky with the wheel, won't give you as much wheel gap as 225/40's would and riide will be nicer too.
if youre lowered, id probably go 225 myself. but i'm gonna go 235's on my 7.5's on stock suspension. has anyone had bad experiences with rolling fenders?
the stock size is 215/45 ? the plus one is 225/40. The 235 is stretching it on a 7.5 imho. I bought wider wheels and put 225/40 but also worried about the rear fender as my car gets a little lower with different springs. I am going to consider 235 in front for the 1/4 mile though when i replace the fronts again. Also to the op, the narrower shorter tire often weighs less, you have some light wheels already and maybe you can gain traction with a softer tire without getting big. I think its rotational mass theory or something they say is important to go faster.
But maybe you are going for the wheel gap. Probably gotta roll the rears then
