hello

This is my first post on this forum. i recently purchased used 2008 MAZDA5 private, and previous owner left car unattended for 3 weeks and battery died, when he went to get Ontario Emission Test at Canadian tire, the system gave following info, overall result was " NOT READY"

MISFIRE - READY
FUEL SYSTEM- READY
COMPRE. - READY
CATALYST- READY
HEATED CATALYST- N/A
EVAPROTIVE SYSTEM - NOT READY
SECONDARY AIR - N/A
OXYGEN SENSOR - NOT READY
OXYGEN SENSOR HEATER- READY
EGR SYSTEM - READY
AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - N/A

*my question is does above result due to battery reset can cause problem with my AC not working & Heated seat not working, he was told at canadian tire that everything will start to work, just keep diving for few days,

*how long should i wait till i can take my car for e test again? i have already driven close to 500km (appx 450 hy /appx. 30 city) in 2 days

i am running on temp permit, this is my very first mazda and very first forum post, i would really appreciate all your help. please help

thanks

You are likely already set for the test and emission readiness has NOTHING to do with your heated seats and A/C not working. If they aren't working now they will not start magically working 30 miles from now. Check for bad fuses because that is completely unrelated. Some readiness tests have to be completed after the car has set overnight and restarted when the coolant temp is below about 30c. If you have driven the car daily for a few days and mixed in some city with some steady state highway cruising you should be good to go.

Thank you so much for your reply, I got my emission taken care, I'll check the fuse for heated seats, any idea about ac, is it possible it's out of gas or since the car has been sitting for a while some system needs to come back up?

A/C would need to be diagnosed which is hard in the winter at home but can be done.
Probably best to take it to a shop so they test if the system is full with gas. If it is need to check if it engages when you press the button and take it from there.

A few users posted that their heated seats gave out, so if it not a fuse, outside replacing a seat from a junk yard or doing a DIY on the after market element dealer repair was quoted at $650 by one member.

that sounds very expensive to fix heated seats,

for A/C when i press the ac button i dont hear any thing, ie. compressor not kicking in, and line outside is not freezing,
