Let's say you had a choice between a 2003 Mazdaspeed and a 2003.5, which would you choose? What are the important differences?

Second the search button can be your best friend here
Third, here is a quick summary of what's different, it's all cosmetic.
Shift Knob and pedals say Mazdaspeed instead of Sparco on them on the 03.5
New front lip no fogs on the 03.5
Different finish on the rims for the 03.5
Different spoiler.
Exhaust on the 03.5 has an oval tip instead of a round tip.
Different colors available. Other then that they are identical in terms of the parts that make the car go.

Black=best
Colors are the biggest ... they made the best colors on the 2003.5 car. The yellow and blue rock imo. Also again imo so I don't get slammed...the finish on the 2003's look like every other wheel out there. The 2003.5 has a very different darker color that imo looks cool. Also it hides brake dust better. IMO also the wing is nicer on the 2003.5. Again all OPINION and all these things are only "looks".....so it's really up to you and how you think the colors, rims, wings look.....and why not get the newest car possible?

Yes.......It's all in what you like!
If it were 'today'; I might buy the 2003.5 Laser Blue. However; I do not like the 2003.5 front end, or the pedals with the MAZDASPEED logos. The fatter shift knob is cool. But again; I would prefer they say "Sparco" like our 03s. The wing is cool on the 2003.5s, but I like the 03's just fine. I like the exhaust tip on the 03s better, also. Is any of this a 'show stopper'? No. If I had no other choice, I would buy the 2003.5.
The wheels for each year? I love the '03 wheels on the Black Mica. On the Black Mica, I think they definitely look better than the darker shaded 2003.5 wheels would. I have seen the 2003.5 Titanium, and I like the darker shade on it. I think the Laser Blue would also look great with the darker shade, but I haven't seen one yet. It's all personal choice.
I would venture to guess; there were fewer (1,150) Black Mica MAZDASPEEDs produced than any of the 2003.5s. That shouldn't play into a color choice, however.

According to Mazda instead of having the fog lamps in the front of the 03.5's they have air ducts to help cool the front brakes.
Black=people don't notice you as much. I was at Dunkin Donuts with yuyurena and II-savy and a guy in a vette asked us for directions to a car meet. When he drove off he said, "Oh...and nice car! Both of em!!!" ARGH!! He completely missed my Black MSP...but you know what? Cops don't notice you as much either...(naughty)
Honestly...I wanted fogs, the sparco stuff, and I love the wing on the 03 vs the 03.5 (which has a 5-piece!!) As for the wheels on the 03.5...hyperblack is the "in" color so you'll see a ton out there soon. Honestly...it's too bad they didn't make an 03 Dark Red MSP, or I would have gotten that.
