2003 Protege serpentine belt...

The a/c - p/s belt on my wife's protege appears to be too wide for the a/c pulley. I have tried 3 different belts and all three are kind of pitched up on the backside of the pulley.

All of them "walk" off of the pulley and start shredding. Any suggestions?

Just now saw this...

The problem is/was, the A/C pulley only has three ridges and the crank pulley & power steering pulley have 4 ridges. Apparently it came from Mazda like that because unless the A/C was replaced without my knowledge, it has never been messed with. It hasn't even had to have freon added.

I don't know how the OE belt made it to 75k or it's replacement made it 60k without getting thrown off or shredded. I'm still trying to figure out if something was done without us knowing it.
