Here is my problem::

My main belt broke few months back after squealing for long time. My mechanic replaced the belt and I got a new battery as my battery was old.
But my belts are still squealing especially in the morning and evening for 10-20 seconds when I turn on the lights.
My mechanic is now clueless although he tried to tighten the belts couple of times.

In essence, belts squeal for 10-30 secs in the evening when I turn the lights on.

BTW: I have HID lights and new battery

Any comment/help please.

Thanks

Also, check for belt rubber on the pulley. Someone had that problem a while back - cleaning the pulley solved the squeeling problem.

Take belt off, clean all pullys and check for loose or tight bearings in them. And SOMETIMES if the belt it too tight they can sqeel. I would say alt bearings or idler pully maybe. Try to avoid using that belt sqeek-be-gone stuff. As to it will only prolong issue. Check all pullys first.

Hope it helps!

mine was doing that for awhile. all it was is that i had the alternator slightly off tilt. so just loosen the alternator and make sure its straight and true.

Also, have the alternator checked. Its bearing may be going bad.
