ok I have had this protg a year now and i'm stumped. I've been throwing money at it. has a rebuilt head as of last week. put a used transmission in it shortly after getting it. replaced the computer. replaced every sensor I could find to replace. I know it still needs a new power steering pump. the problem I cant ever get around is this damn flashing overdrive light. as soon as it gets up to normal temp the o/d light starts flashing (goes into limp mode). the other problem is when it push it a bit it sometimes sets off the check engine light to start flashing. I'm thinking I need to replace the distributor now. but I don't know. the thing is I cant get the codes off of it. it's a 1995 built in 1994. it has a ob2 plug but it doesn't give any signal. it has a diagnostics port that also doesn't provide any code. the check engine light is on constantly and always has been. it ( the check engine light) come back on immediately even after being reset. just throwing it out there for any of you pros to tackle. i'm new here and just signed up. so please be gentle and thanks in advance.

ok a little update since no one has responded and theres some new stuff. I replaced the power steering pump. I did have an oil leak from where the distributor goes into the head but I've fixed that I think. my heater is not working and I've tested the fan which works great but cant find the relay to replace. I do remember something about when I put in the transmission that has always bothered me. it was the valve control body had a exposed gasket. I never took it apart but in handling it I did damage the gasket and I thought it's probably not making a good seal probably doesn't have the right pressure and is leaking into the pan. yesterday it was having trouble shifting so i'm highly suspicious of the transmission again. I also gotta admit I had a couple scratches in the torque converter's bearing surface. it has worked as it is since thanksgiving though so it couldn't be that bad right? I am not overheating anymore. but I do have a slight suspicion that maybe the radiator is plugged in the transmission area. I just want a magic answer. someone take a crack at it.
