While it may make the steering more "responsive," it will also increase your steering effort, torque steer and "kickback" on bumps (especially mid-corner bumps) due to the increase in scrub radius. Just something to keep in mind.
has anyone had any experience running a 235/40/18 on an 18X8 +48 offset wheel? also lowered on H&R's, no fender rolling. i figure it should be ok, the stock tires are 8.5" overall width and the 235/40 tires are about 9.4" overall width. i think i have at least 1/2" of wiggle room on both sides. just wondering if anyone else has tried this size combination.
I have 235/40R18 Kumho XS tires on RX-8 wheels (et50) and am on the the stock suspension with no rubbing. 2 mm might make a difference, especially if lowered, but a little rear fender roll would be all that you'd need to rectify it...
