Zinging Noise At Start-up

OK, so I have a 2003 MSP and when I start it up it makes a weird zinging noise, and continues to do so when accelerating until the car is warmed up completely. I have a clogged EGR valve that needs to be cleaned but I am not sure if that is the cause of this noise or not. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem, come to find out that my motor mounts were split.

motormounts caused the zinging noise? hmm.. thats strange...mine only does it when i accelerate until the car warms up.. is that wat yours did too?

metal expands when its heated...

quite possible - but without hearing the noise I dont want to speak on ANYTHING...

it could also be a loose bolt that is causing something to have a little play until the metal expands.

I think my car is making the same noise. Only happens when its cold outside and sounds like metal on metal.

yea i'm still working on getting a sound clip, but its pissing the s*** outta me, by the way, the sound gets louder the harder i accelerate, like very loud

It appears that my MSP is making the same noise that yours makes, and under the same conditions.

Did you ever find out the cause of the noise?

Have you fixed the problem? How so?
