So I went to Wendy's yesterday, and when I came out, I turn on my car...all of a sudden, my head unit's graphics are all sorts of screwed up..lines were there that shouldn't be...some pixels that should have been lit weren't..things like that. It was intermitently like that for 20 mins or so...and I haven't seen the prob since, so far. I took the head unit off to see if the connection was dirty, but it wasn't. Has this happened to anyone else?

The only thing that happened to me was that I turned on my car and I had noticed that I lost ALL my settings on my radio...it was a pain in the ass to put them back in...hasn't happened again but hopefully it will never happen again because I don't think I will remember how to setup everything again...

I've had the player search for a MP3 song forever, had to turn it off/on... maybe 5 times since i have my car, but no graphical glitches.

I wish i could put the time of day always ON the display even when i listen to MP3s.. (99% of the time).

Yeah, i had it do the "look for a song" forever thing before too. I've also had it playing one song and displaying the ID3 tag of a completely different song a number of times.

Yeah thats a bug with the random, if you remove the random and put it back on, i think the next song will have the wrong artist.. :)

Minor glitch.. i really like the player besides that, i'm happy we didn't get the 919 people seem to be having a hard time with it..

( btw we have Z828 not Z818 )..

I don't get it Karl..u can't see the time when u listen to MP3?? I can...or maybe I didn't get what u wrote...

The time of day...
i think the players should have a section where the current time of the day is always displayed independly of where you are because when i listen to MP3's i have the track time and the id3 tag displayed. :)

I'm picky.. hehe

Hey KoolDino Ive had the problem...started in November...times where the screen lit completely up, and now the graphics wont play...its like the graphics are being layed down 3 consecutive times, but off by one pixel up or down or whatever....me and one other MP3 owner at my dealership have a warranty claim into Mazda Canada (useless tits) and they supposedly have to go through Kenwood...but I have the same problem youre not alone

i have the 919 and have never had a problem. it takes its time to read mp3's, and you have to adjust the settings depending on what kind of music you listen to , but thats with any. Someone tell me what the deal is.

Hey...sorry guys, yeah, i meant the 828. Kurt, I think we have the same prob. Still hasn't happened since then, but not good nonetheless. In genereal, i feel the 828 is a bit buggy. They should have at least made it flashable so we could upgrade firmware.

Karl, I feel the same way about the clock...i hate having to stop playing my CD so I can read the time...what a pain. I have tons of little complaints about the 828...It will be replaced eventually.

Buy a watch guys! :p

I do get what you are saying tho, altho really I think as a standard car stereo in a car, the Kenwood kicks some ass!

It's happening again. :(

I'm thinking of trying rubbing alchohol on it.

Tried cleaning it...made no difference. I brought it back to mazda the other day, and they are gonna order me a new one.

Whatever guy it was complaing that it took too long reading a song before playing, try this.

I was having this problem too. I first blamed it on cdrw's. I use a cdrw, fill it up with mp3's, and just add a song to it here and there. Works out great.

But anyhow, don't just copy a s*** load of songs onto the cd. Make a a lot of folders. Say, one for you, one for the woman, maybe another for certain types of music and so on. And only put a few songs in each folder.

If you don't do this, and you have like 100 songs on the root of the cd, or in one folder, every time you skip forward to a song, or go back to a previous song, or change folders...etc.... it has to scan every single file until it plays the one you want. So, if you got 100 songs in that one folder, it's gonna scan all 100 songs before it starts playing. Hence, it takes 5 mins before it starts playing again.

I have about 15-20 songs in each folder. I can switch back and forth between songs, folders, or anything, and it's almost instant. Just as fast as any normal cd player.

Hope that helps. Works for me.

Mine reads fast...because i burn on CDRs at DISK AT ONCE. All MP3s in one dir.
