Dear Mazdas247 Members,

Driving a Mazda comes with the pride of recognizing the nuances of a car thats a hair lighter, more agile or developed with the purpose of finding a better solution to how to build a better car. When it comes to our sixth-generation vehicles our current lineup we say that each possesses a bit of MX-5 Miata DNA. Each is remarkably fun to drive, no matter whether its a family sedan, crossover or sports car.

But, in truth, weve always held the philosophy that even basic transportation need not be a chore to drive. Mazdas have always taken on the philosophy of Jinba Ittai translated as horse and rider as one. This year, Jinba Ittai is our theme for our display at the Japanese Classic Car Show (JCCS) in Long Beach, California, on Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the lawn next to the Queen Mary.

JCCS is the largest show for vintage Japanese cars in the U.S. This year, we are planning to bring from the Mazda basement collection our 1967 Cosmo Sport 110S, 1972 RX-2 racecar, 1988 323 GTX, 1990 MX-5 Miata from the 1989 Chicago Auto Show world debut, the only left-hand-drive 2002 RX-7 Spirit R in the world and our two latest vehicles: 2016 MX-5 and CX-3.

Our presence at JCCS isnt just about the cars, however. Its about giving back in the communities we serve. Mazda has adopted an outreach program called Drive for Good, which was designed to donate both monetarily and with service hours to charities around the U.S. For 2015, Mazda has allocated $4.9 million and 66,000 service hours. And were bringing that with us to JCCS.

At JCCS, well have an assortment of Mazda-branded accessories and apparel available for suggested donations with proceeds that will go toward benefitting United Way charity initiatives.

We cordially invite you to stop by our display at JCCS, look around, stay a while and, hopefully, make a donation that will make a difference to those in need.

Sincerely,
Jeremy Barnes,
Director, Public Relations and Brand Experience
Committee Chair, Mazdas United Way Initiative
