If you could have one. Of course my ultimate Mazda would be a sports car, I'd want something more practical for everyday use.
Pretty simple-- take the 3rd generation Miata (NC) platform and make a small functional, stripped down 4-door sedan or 5-door hatch out of it. Basically a rear-wheel drive Protege that's a lightweight (at least in Mazdaspeed or modded form) 330i/A4 killer. I guess a better comparison would be the fugly 1-series Bimmer, but those are awfully small behind the front seats. Mazda needs to go after the small German sedans at 70% of the price. The IS300 almost did it for me, but Toyota's not my thing. And those hideous Altezzas....
