I might not agree with 4 years, because the military just isnt for everyone. 2 years is plenty of time to get disciplined. if you arent disciplined in 2 years you wont be in 4 either. but ive been saying for years everyone should do some time in a service to get a greater respect for this country and its leaders, as well as a respect for yourself. being in the military totally changes your life. you can put up with anything. for example, before i might have had to be really comfortable to sleep. now, if i slept through bombing, gunfire, rockets, jets, and helicopters in iraq i can easily sleep anywhere at anytime. also, youre physically fit. sure every service has overwieght soldiers, but did you know that only 7% of the male population can do over 13 pushups? for my age group the minimum to pass is 50 and the max is 78 in two minutes. i did 74 last pt test. damn. anyways, you get my point.
