YF09-14-302A Filter for 2010 CX-9?

So I bought 5 of these online as it was indicated as the correct part number, however now that I am in the middle of the oil change I have noticed that the YF09-14-302A is actually about 0.5-1" shorter than the original filter that came on the CX-9 from the factory.

What gives? Is this a problem? I plan to change the oil & filter with synthetic 5w-30 every 5000 miles.

mazdaparts.org (a Mazda dealer) and a couple eBayers list YF09-14-302A as the filter for CX9.
I guess it definitely fits CX9, but do you have the part number of the filter on your original CX9?

I noticed the same, and the wrench that came with my purchase did not fit well with the factory installed oil filter. But I have no problem putting in the new oil filter (YF09-14-302A). It is a snug fit and the filter wrench fits perfectly to this oil filter. The original filter doesn't show a part number if memory serves me right. It is just plain white but longer.
