Yet another exhaust question

I've done a search but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I have an Apexi N1 muffler on my MP3 right now, but don't like how "ricey" it is.

What kind of muffler do you all recommend? How about the flowmaster?

Info on this would be more than appreciated.

Thanks all.

Check out Corksport's power series exhaust. My roommate and I both have it on our cars and it is very nice.

My Corksport exhaust showed up today. Looks to be very high quality and looks great. Can't say anything about the sound yet as I am running open header until my new first cat shows up.

I have the HSM, which is a straight pipe and a tip with no muffler. My car sounds like a WRX and has a nice gurgle as you down shift through the gears.

I'm sure that straight pipe sounds sweet. That's not a bad idea.

After changing the trany oil yesterday, I was looking at the exhaust and noticed I think I do have just a straight pipe. Is the catalytic converter right after the header? Or is that a precat, and supposed to be a 2nd cat?

I'm quite sure that if there is supposed to be a cat after the header (which I do not have) there is no way I will pass emissions.
