looks really nice -- since you have a nice black heat shield -- you should get rid of the rusty old bolts holding it on ---

i couldnt agree with you more....the problem is, i need to find bolts that will withstand the heat OR i could paint them.....

what about powdercoating ? would that work (im a noob to powder)
I also allways wondered how to get bolts to tighten up with out the socket rubbing or scratching the paint or finish off??

unfortunately powder wont hold up to temps that high (powder with stands temps UP TO ~700* i think, around there) i used 1200* engine enamel on the heatshield....i may do it anyway and keep painting them when needed....as far as tightening the bolts...hmmm im gonna have to think on that one....possibly use an adjustable wrench with a towel or old tee shirt for protection against paint removal.

Did you paint or powder coat your heat shoeld??

i actually painted my heatshild with 1200 degree paint (an entire can of it) i removed it since because the paint was starting to crack at the bolts...next im gonna remove the paint and polish the ever living sh*t out of it!
