YEAH! I've got door rattles...YEAH!

(freak) YEAH! I've got door rattles...YEAH! (freak)
{think "Special Ed", from "Crank Yankers"}

So, after only 2k miles I have the infamous door rattle... YEAH!(freak)

Did anyone have this fixed under the TSB? Did the dealer give you a hassle? Did it solve the problem?

Also, does the noise keep getting worse if I don't fix it?

TIA,
Will

Depending on where you live, the climate may temporarily fix it. I haven't heard my rattles since the temperature got above 70 degrees. Ya gotta hate winter...it's out of control when it's 30 degrees outside. I've already had both my door panels off several times in search of a fix, so I guess it may be too late for me to hope for a warranty fix. If you haven't tried to fix it yourself, take it in (preferably if the car is very cold) and insist on taking someone for a ride so they can hear how annoying it is.

From the get-go

Mine rattled from day one. Brought it back to the stealer-ship and the mechanic there spent 4 hours finding the problem. Once he isolated the rattle he took all the door panels off and tightened all the loose screws which took about 30 minutes. Since then no more rattles. I happen to live where it's either 20 below zero or 90 above and still no problems.

yeah the stealership found loose screws in my passenger side panel as well, there is still a rattle comming from their sometimes but with the sound deadening and the high volume when i hear it i figure its probably my own fault b/c i didn't hear it untill the new speakers...

i have mine a year and a half ago and no ratles

I had some door rattles that were caused by my audio system. After I deadened the door panels, no more rattles. The dealer obviously won't do this for you, but it's not that hard to DIY.

I finally found and cured the cause for the front door rattle....I got fed up of listening to the constant rattling and took the outer and inner door panel off. Turns out there is a hard yellow block of foam-type material in the bottom of the door, close to the outside edge - which serves some unknown purpose. It seems to be bolted or screwed to something inside the door, and it's not screwed in tight which causes it to rattle against the inside of the door. I crammed some pink insulation between the block and the outer door skin and TA-DAAAAA - silent door. It only took me a year to fix that irritating ******. First I thought it was the latch, then though it was the inner door panel. Here's the real culprit. Later!

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. I fixed my door rattles about a year ago. They actually came out with a TSB for this issue.

I used electrical tape to fix mine and it's still holding.

Good luck!
