ok so im about to purchase an MS3 soon and i want to get a loan through the bank so that way i can pay it over a longer amount of time so that way i have a lil extra money if i need it and if i dont i can make a bigger payment.. ok so heres my question if i went to the dealership with $20,000 cash/certified check or w.e. do you think that they would let me drive off in an 09 gt with the sat and nav pkg??

Longer amount of time? How the hell long do you want? Anything longer than 5 years is just plain ******* stupid. If you can't afford to pay a car off in 5 years, then you can't afford it. Also, bank isn't very likely to give you a longer term than the dealership. Actually, it's a pretty safe bet that they'd both offer the same terms anyways.

You will get a better price on the car if you get financing through the dealership. Also, the dealer can shop the loan through all of the major and local banks anyway, so it is likely that you can get the same loan through the dealership, and get a better price for the car. Plus, they will do all of the paperwork for you that way too.

Nay, sounds improbable. I don't even know about getting a sport for that cheap, let alone a kitted up GT. We got my GT without nav for 23K OTD, and it was a leftover '08.

I doubt it...but since you already have financing from your bank ask the dealer what they could do for you for financing...play them all against each other to see who gets the best numbers.

The dealer doesn't care if you give them cash. At the end if the day, the dealer will get the money for the car from somewhere (ie. you or a loan from the bank). THere is no way you get an 09 GT for that price.

I picked up an 09 Sport for 20995, but after tax and title (in CA) it was 23 otd. You might be able to swing in 08 Sport for 20k otd the door, but even that will be tough...good luck.

if i were to explain why i would like to do it then you would completely understand.. invoice for an 09 gt is $22,590 plus nav $1,677 a $4,000 dollar hit isnt that much for a dealership to take a lot of people on on of the other forums have gotten theirs for 20k otd so idk im gonna give it a shot and see what happens... ill let you guys know what happenes

Definitely not a new GT but maybe they have a used one on the lot (dealer demo). Either way it won't include the Sat/Nav at that price. You probably can't get a new sport for that price either (not including Sat/Nav).

Regarding finanancing, I was able to get a better rate through a local bank, dealer was off by .5% which isn't much but its still $. If you are part of AAA they can also shop rates and get you a really good deal.

I know this might sound crazy, especially in today's economy, but I heard in Car and Driver that while Nissan dealers were marking up GT-Rs substantially to almost the 100k point; a guy worked out a deal with a dealer that participated in this Costco auto buyers program. He was able to get the GT-R for sticker price. So if you are a member of Costco and there is a participating dealer near you, you might be able to cut some sort of a deal. Crazy I know, but most defidently worth a shot.

These cars have an invoice. There's about a grand that the dealers get back from the factory after selling at invoice, so the minumum amount they can sell you the car to break even is about Invoice-1k. The Invoice with the Destination charge for the barebone GT is 23.5k. So the minimum theoretical price you can expect without any incentives is 22.5k, and thats almost impossible to get since dealers want to make some money of the car. They do make a some extra money for the total amount of cars they sell, but you can't really expect them to give you much more then $500 bucks below invoice.
