YAKIMA (trunk rack)

i recently purchased the MIGHTY JOE trunk rack..its a good trunk rack, but the only problem that it has is that it covers the license plate. For MP3/MSP/Protege that has this rack or something like this, does it cover your license plate or did you have to remove the plate in the mean time while the rack is on. I just need suggestions,
