Yeah racelands are a great deal if you leave them unslammed, and a great deal if you're like fuckyeahslamm n don't care about the ride. when I first installed mine, they were a lot better then I was expecting, but once u slamm and basically destroy the shock travel, its bounce bounce 24/7

are you referring to him waiting to install his Rota Grid-V Gloss White 15x8" +0?

Big mouth.

15x8 +0 Rota Grid-V, powercoated gloss white, installed, as well as 195/45/r15 Federal SS595 tires. Never again shall I buy a set of nexens :)

what did you dislike about the nexens? i hear a lot of good things about them and used to have them on my first protege, but thats when i didnt really notice things like how tires affect the ride and grip

If you like getting sideways for absolutely no reason on a very mildly damp highway at 75 mph all because you hit the gas in 5th gear, then Nexens are for you! If you're looking for something to get you by and you're on a budget, sure... they're ok I guess. But if you car has any power (I see you have a Protege, so that's not a problem) then avoid them at all costs. You'll die. That being said, I hope you don't have any high hopes for the Federals either...

I had feddys before on my protege (before the turbo) and they had a really bad cupping problem. I had no idea why, took it to a shop to check the alignment, everything was perfect. They werent terrible tires but I just wouldnt buy them again. When I took them off, the inside edge and outside edge of all 4 tires were bald, and the middle had almost 80% tread

Im loving the federals so far, very much so an upgrade. If these don't end up working out, I guess my only option will be t1rs lol

And you know that I'm not trying to give you s*** as much as I'm giving examples from my experiences. I had a set of Federals on my Civic years ago as DD tires, and they did relatively well as that. The car handles like a Buick so pushing them hard wasn't an option. haha.

As far as my game plan goes.. I felt as if my nexens + racelands + tuned turbo would result in a horrible time trying to gain traction under power so I decided to upgrade my tires(hopefully the federals can hold up, I'd hate to have to buy a set of toyos in the near future lol), which of course gave me the perfect reason to change wheels since I had been drooling over the Grid-V since they came out, and upgrade suspension to BCs. For the wheels, I was originally going to do candy green but after getting outrageous quotes, I stuck with white but gloss white this time instead of pearl. Its much brighter and whiter lol.

Now I'm focused on getting off the racelands, BCs will probably be purchased in two weeks. Along with the BCs I will also be welding in a skid plate so that I can go lower if I choose to without putting my oil pan in harm's way and I will also be removing my soft top as its just dead weight and takes up valuable storage space lol.

Once thats all said and done, I will be back onto finishing turbo; FM1 clutch > MSPNP > install then professional tune.

Should be all good before the end of summer :)

Link to those particular tires?

Just to give you an idea, I drove the car on the Toyo Proxes R28's that were designed for the MSM, and supposedly really really good and would break them loose in 2nd gear. You'll be at higher power than I am. I hope you are quick countersteering.
