In WWI Germany was basically strong armed into the war due to its pacts of defensewith other nations. Some what akin to when a big kid who is generally laid back and peaceful gets into a fight because he's friends with a little punk who has a big mouth and picks a fight that he can't handle. (Massive over-simplification, but you get the point.

Where as in WWII Germany was the true aggressor. Following WWI Germany was castrated by peace treaties that took away the majority of their military and turned their economy to s***. This made it easy for a lunatic like Hitler to come to power blaming all of the things wrong with Germany on the Jews and other silly reasons. It also made few Germans question their government when they began to aggress upon their bordering nations to the west and eventually Russia to the east.

In short Germany wasn't really the bad guy in WWI as so much just the major opponent of the U.S. and its allies. While in WWII as we all know the Germans realy were the bad guys. (Another massive over-simplification.)

Another way to contrast the wars is that WWI wasn't really a global conflict since there was little going on in Asia at the time with the exception of small conflicts between nations that were currently run by Imperial European nations. While WWII was very much a global conflict with the US facing opponents across both the Atlantic and the Pacific.

what about the 2 diferent motives behind each war (the politics), or the 2 differnt leaders behind it. the Keizer vs Hitler... ww1 was fought for a tottally differnt reason than ww2.

why each war started: ie Greedy dictator trying to concur the world vs Germany defending Austria's heir to the throne being assassinated.
